30 Nov Common Causes of Back Pain
While we are always happy to help you with your back pain at Mill Creek Chiropractic, sometimes prevention is better than cure. To reduce the time you spend with us instead of enjoying other activities and to avoid setting back your treatment, try to avoid the following common causes of back pain.
- Your Desk: The way you sit in your office can be one of the biggest sources of back trouble. Sitting for hours at a time is unnatural and puts added stress on your back. Staring down at your computer screen or papers only adds to the problem. Be sure to periodically stand up, stretch, and roll your head in all directions.
- Exercise: Exercise is good for you, but not when you do it improperly. After sitting inside all week, getting out and being active may sound like a good idea, but heavy exercise when you haven’t been properly exercising your core is a recipe for disaster.
- Stomach Sleeping: Health and fitness don?t stop at bed time. Sleeping on your stomach unnaturally contracts your spine and can lead to pain. Sleep on your side or back to keep your spine elongated and ache free.
